石文山

I retired last year after working for Abbott Labortories for 20 years as a Manufacturing engineer. Prior to this job, I worked for Xerox, Tandy, and Acushnet co. Throughout my career, my main job function was industrial engineer - work measurement, Shop Floor control (MES), ERP, Simulation, DOE, and Quality measurement (e.g. DPMO). Therefore, I can say that I have devoted 100% of my career to the advancement of IE profession. Right now I am concentrating on doing R&R - Rest and Relax, and spending lots of time on preserving old rock and roll music.

Going back 28 years to 1976. I attended University of Texas at Arlington in August 1976 and graduated in December 1977 with a master IE degree. I believe there are at least 5 other classmates who graduated from the same school - 陳振炎 (Jason Chen), 姜燿樟 (Jiang, Y. Z.), 王正 (James Wang), 李中豪 (Lee, C. H.), 詹定天 (Zang, D. T.).

I started working in 1978 and got married in May of the same year. I have two kids - Brian who is a sophomore at Olin college of engineering in Boston area, and Sara who is in 10th grade of high school. My wife is working for Verizon in the accounting department.

I live in Carrollton, Texas. Carrollton is a surburban town of Dallas and is very boring. Therefore, very few friends ever visit me. However we do have the best symphony hall - Dallas Meyerson Center (designed by I.M. Pei, the same guy who designed Tunghai's famous church), the best museum - Fort Worth Modern art museum and Kimbell art museum, and the best sculpture center - the Dallas Nasher Sculpture center.

What Texan lack in culture, they surely know how to buy it with lots of oil money. If you are into arts, you may want to visit here and give me a call.

P.S. Long live Rock and Roll !!!
